I was quite keen to try the chilli beers but they didn’t do it for me. I’m sure they were nice but all beer based but I’m a dedicated lager lout.

I also got stung by a wasp whilst chatting with Tim from the Cambridge Chilli Farm. I did get a jar of his Nagalade and a bottle of Ghost Pepper 10 Sauce.

I wanted to buy more but I have so many bottles on the go at the moment.

The festival seemed a bit smaller than last year.

Something has been eating my Fuegos. Massive chunks of the tips.

I was given a couple of bottles of chilli sauce by Jane Thompson of Ashridge Preserves.

We’re that impressed we are going to commision Jane to make some Berkhamsted Chilli Growing Society chilli sauce. Ashridge Preserves are sold at local events, if you see any on sale I recommend buuying a few bottles.

Some ones been eating my Ring of Fire.

I’ve washed and put away all the plant pots that have been piled around my garden. Leaving them lying around is really slack as they provide a breeding ground for slugs and snails. The chickens ate well though.

I’ve become a fan of using wine boxes as planters. The don’t blow over in the wind, unlike plant pots.

Next season I’ll be using lots of copper tape to keep the slugs away.

I took this Serano, grown from Wahaca seeds, out of the green house because all the leaves looked ill. It’s a shame as it has lots of fruit on it.

I found this monster of a catapillar on one of its leaves.

Looking pretty.

I bought the Prairie Fire in the house for a change.

My Naga is looking good.

I put my smoker together yesterday.

For the first test run I used Hickory.

Loaded with fresh chilli’s, dried chilli’s and a bulb of garlic with some cider for flavour.

My first Ring of Fire chilli’s. They were quite mild.

I scrounged another bottle of chilli sauce from Pho Cafe. This sauce scrounging is turning into a habit.

I have just been given this chilli bounty fresh from the USA by one of the Chilli Society members for looking after his chickens. Ass Kickin Habanero Pop Corn, Ass Kickin Corn Bread and Pappy’s Moonshine Madness chillis sauce, which claims it will send me blind.

Tucked away in the back of one of my little tent green houses. It looked like it was struggling for light so I repotted it and chucked it in the new poly tunnel.

Some Volcano Super Frenso chillis turning red.

A Black Hungarian is turning red from purple.

Last night Aunty Dee and I were eating our home grown.
